Coronavirus – getting the balance right
Listening to the expert this morning it seems that the UK Coronavirus strategy is not to shut down most people’s social activities too soon so that younger people may get it mildly and become immune, so increasing herd immunity – and reducing the risk of the virus bouncing back. But at the same time to reduce risks to the more vulnerable by minimising their contacts. The implication is that countries that lock down too early could get a virus recurrence when restrictions are lifted.
