I voted for the Common Market – not for a Common European Government
Many years ago in the last Referendum about Europe I voted for the UK to join the Common Market. Dad, I remember, voted not to join. I still believe the UK should be part of a Common European Market – but we now have a Common European Government, and the European Courts take precedence over the British Courts and our Borders. This is not what I voted for or ever wanted. If Cameron can negotiate big changes – Government, Courts and Borders all back to British control – I will again vote to stay with Europe economically. If he cannot negotiate these basic changes ……I will re-consider.
